As an electrical project superintendent in our evergreen industry, you will have the chance to define how our brand connects quality and resources with our customers. We are looking for a visionary who looks to build their future in a permanent, full-time position, provide an exceptional customer experience and leave a legacy in the specialized federal, commercial, industrial, water treatment, and airfield / airport electrical fields.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

As an electrical project superintendent, you will :

Demonstrates safe working procedures, reports, and whenever possible, corrects unsafe working conditions and practices

Adheres to and enforces all SEC EH&S policies and procedures, including but not limited to local, state, and federal laws

Directs work of helpers, electricians, and foreman assigned to their job

Lays out and plans work in advance accordance with job schedules, plans, and specifications

Sets up the job office and equipment trailers, sees that permits, labor notices, safety rules, company, state, and federal regulations are posted in a conspicuous place

Ensures that safety and health requirements are followed by Starr workers and subcontractor crews

Ensures safety and other company mandated messages properly delivered to work crews as instructed by the company

Shall promptly report work related injuries / illnesses and conduct thorough investigations in accordance with SEC EH&S reporting and conducting investigations

Ascertains that safety barricades are in proper place, safety lights properly operating, tools are secure, and good housekeeping is kept on their assigned job site(s)

Maintains a productive working relationship with the project manager, seeking his / her assistance in the scheduling of materials, equipment, and subcontractors and assisting with change order estimates

Attends pre-construction and construction meetings, taking notes on areas that may present a future problem and present to the project manager for consultation

Ensues that all change orders are properly executed and indicated on the as-built drawings

Assists management in estimating percent completion of each item for monthly invoicing and of labor for each job cost report and notifies management of unforeseen problems that may develop

Maintains good relationships with inspectors, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other key people connected with the project

Creates / completes short term interval (look ahead) schedules and pre-task plans

Reviews attendance daily and submits time sheets and PTO requests to payroll on time each week

Schedules job-site inspections and participates in "walk-throughs", assists inspectors on their project reviews when necessary

Attends job meetings, coordinates with other trades and owner representatives

Completes and maintains company required files, forms, and documents using software programs as required, such as excel, word, and / or outlook

Coordinates delivery, pick-up, and maintenance of heavy equipment on the project and supervises effective utilization

Order and tracks material

Evaluates abilities and work ethic of direct reports

Ensures employees under his / her supervision maintain Starr Electric minimum tool list

Responsible to ensure satisfactory sanitation facilities are available for his / her workers

Operates manual and automatic transmission vehicle

Supervises and may be required to perform all functions of lower level classifications

Must Haves :

Skilled at using basic office / business equipment and communication devices such as cell phone, personal computer, fax, scanner, office printer, etc.

Basic office computer skills and programs such as outlook, excel, and word

Able to read and interpret blueprints (all trades) and specifications for advanced work layout and planning

Has a working knowledge of and the ability to refer to current national electrical code

Able to positively identify colors of wires

Travel to new job sites as business operations require

Work required schedule (may be required to work nights and weekends to meet construction deadlines or handle emergencies)

Understand and perform basic math functions and tape measurement

Identify and use electrical hand tools and basic power tools properly

Work in all elements (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.) daily

Work in restricted areas, often in cramped places that require getting into awkward positions (switchgear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics, etc.)

Perform work from heights from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, roofs, or other areas occasionally or as job requires

Perform work from all types of ladders (step ladders up to 14', "A" frame ladders, and all sizes of extension ladders), and carry and relocate up to 12' step ladder one's self; for this reason, employees personal weight and personal tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladder (Class 1-250 lbs., Class 1A-300 lbs.)

Must be able to use construction site sanitary facilities (porta-john) if needed

Make transition from employee parking are into construction work areas and to gain access to all levels of building, even if the only means is by OSHA approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction but acceptable to use

Should have a minimum of ten (10) or more years of proven electrical experience (industrial / commercial)

Electrical License is strongly preferred for this position

High school education, high school graduate, or GED or vocational background preferred

Must possess state driver's license if designated as a "driver" in accordance with SEC Operation of Company Vehicles program

Pass all criminal record and drug testing requirements of the job

Must meet minimum job specific standard (JST) that replicate the essential functions of this position

Complete on the job training as required

Must have the ability to read and write (English) to effectively communicate
