Job Description

Join a dynamic team where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of prescription orders and medication dispensing. We are seeking a detail-oriented pharmacist to review and compound medications, direct pharmacy staff, and provide expert advice to nursing facility staff and physicians.

Responsibilities

  • Review prescriptions issued by authorized prescribers to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
  • Compound sterile and non-sterile medications using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
  • Direct pharmacy employees engaged in mixing, packaging, labeling, and changing prescription orders.
  • Ensure the accuracy of prescription orders and their efficient fulfillment.
  • Dispense medications and provide counseling to nursing facility staff on the use of prescription and over-the-counter medications.
  • Advise physicians about medication therapy.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in pharmacy operations and prior authorization processes.
  • Compounding expertise.
  • PharmD degree or equivalent.
  • Valid Pharmacy License in the State of Kansas.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Leadership abilities to coordinate and direct multiple associates.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Windows-based software programs.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy.
  • Long-term or closed door pharmacy experience preferred, but not required.
  • Work Environment

    Enjoy a consistent schedule from 7am to 3 : 30pm, Monday to Friday, with the option for overtime during weekends.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00 / hr.
