General Laborer 1st & 3rd Shift

The General Labor person will properly carry out all duties as defined below under the Work Performed category. This person will be charged with correctly following all DOA guidelines related to this job. All work will be performed in a safe and sanitary manner. Duties include (but are not limited to) : properly operate weight scales and heat sealers at all bagging locations, properly stack / tag / sample bags at all bagging locations, safely clean all designated plant areas using chemicals, effectively transport products using a walkie forklift, handle trash bags and safely operate the trash compactor. Also included are following all correct equipment sanitation practices. Maintaining a clean work area is an essential job component. This person is also required to perform minor maintenance work on associated equipment.

Essential Functions :

• Properly operate weight scales at all bagging locations
• Properly operate the heat sealer at all bagging locations
• Properly stack and tag bags and sacks at all bagging locations
• Properly sample bags and sacks at all bagging locations
• Follow proper sanitation procedures as described in the associated SOP
• Maintain all associated work areas in a clean, neat manner during the entire shift
• Safely handle chemicals and effectively clean all designated plant areas
• Remove plant generated waste to the trash compactor and safely operate the compactor
• Attend all company mandated training sessions these include Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, etc.
• Can perform minor maintenance on associated equipment
• Can safely transport materials (products, etc) using a hand-held walkie forklift
• Can correctly complete and submit work orders requiring a maintenance person
• Properly follows all procedures and actions as described in the position DOA
• Effectively performs all other duties as assigned or directed by plant management
• Can write legibly and properly follow all verbal / written instructions
• Comply with all policies and procedures of the Corporation
