Job descriptionMust be a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - CRT candidates will not be considered. Current Pennsylvania Respiratory Care Practitioner license required. Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (through AHA). Minimum of 1 year of experience in an acute or LTAC hospital setting preferred. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative care team. Full-time, contract position with possible extension. Day and night shifts available. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - LTAC Hospital Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
About the Opportunity
MedAdventures is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our partner LTAC facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This position is ideal for a skilled clinician who thrives in a critical care environment and is dedicated to providing high-quality respiratory therapy to medically complex patients requiring extended hospitalization and ventilator management.
Responsibilities
- Deliver respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
- Manage and monitor ventilator-dependent patients, perform weaning protocols, and conduct ventilator checks.
- Administer and monitor oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and other therapeutic modalities.
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as arterial blood gases (ABGs), pulmonary function assessments, and pulse oximetry.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the patient record.
- Ensure adherence to infection control and safety policies.
