Summary :
The Quality Engineer is responsible for improving product quality by identifying and reducing variation in the inputs to manufacturing and other business operations. The Quality Engineer will drive customer satisfaction by improving products and processes through Corrective Actions, Preventative Actions, failure mode effects analysis. The Quality Engineer will also work across department lines to establish metrics to monitor effectiveness of processes and corrective actions, adjusting as necessary.
Essential Responsibilities :
Identify product and process failure modes and aid in developing prevention and detection methodsDevelop control plans to ensure adherence to critical to quality requirements for productsDrive development and implementation of improvements to business and manufacturing processesInvestigate and resolve issues impacting customer satisfactionDrive development and implementation of corrective actions resulting from non-conformancesDevelop and maintain key performance indicators and supporting data collection systemsLead implementation of basic and advanced quality control and assurance toolsAssess fit, form, and function of products and / or components to specificationsAssess effectiveness of assembly methods, training, and documentation, and drive changes as necessaryMonitor and respond to audit results of work-in-process and finished-goodsLead and help others with small projectsPerform other duties as required or assignedRequired Skills :
Must be self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a strong personal drive for success.Able to collect, compile, analyze and interpret dataOrganization and time management skills are criticalAdvanced functional understanding and familiarization with FMEA, control plans, APQP, MSA, Capability Studies, and related quality tools is criticalAdvanced functional understanding and familiarization with multiple root cause analysis tools and problem-solving strategiesAbility to lead, persuade, and collaborate with teammates across department functions to drive implementation of best practices for organizational success.Understanding statistical sampling and acceptance quality limitsAdvanced functional knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programsAbility to operate and read various metrology tools, including but not limited to calipers, micrometer, protractorAbility to work effectively as a team as well as independently when assigned tasksAble to overcome obstacles and achieve resultsFamiliarization with ERP system operationsQualifications : Require :
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field5-10 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or Process Engineer in a manufacturing environmentExperience working within ISO 9001 : 2015 or similar quality management system standardsWorking experience supporting or owning APQP and PPAPs in whole or in partPrefer :
HVAC experience is a strong plusProject management experience is a strong plusSix Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plusOther Duties :
