Job description

Fleet Data Centers designs, builds and operates mega-scale data center campuses. Fleet provides its customers with flexibility and predictability to meet their upside demand forecasts, addressing a key need in the market as traditional leased models are struggling to keep pace with the demand for new Cloud and AI infrastructure. Fleet is well positioned to bring in-house design, engineering and operational capabilities to collaborate with customers on tailored solutions for campuses of 500MW+. This unique model enables Fleet to provide the world's largest and most sophisticated customers with a seamless extension of their own data center fleets with constant access to design innovation. Fleet headquarters is in Denver, Colorado, with satellite offices in Seattle, WA and Arlington, VA.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Director – Auxiliary Systems & Infrastructure to lead procurement efforts for all non-mechanical and non-electrical systems in our data center construction and operational projects.

This role will focus on the sourcing, negotiation, and delivery of critical infrastructure such as security systems, IT racks and cabling, BMS / DCIM platforms, fire protection systems, containment solutions, and architectural fit-out components.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in construction or data center projects and comfortable working cross-functionally with design, IT, security, and operations team.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for all non-MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems and equipment in data center builds.
  • Lead the end-to-end sourcing process including vendor qualification, RFQs, technical and commercial evaluations, and contract negotiations.
  • Coordinate with engineering, IT, operations, and construction teams to align procurement timelines with project milestones.
  • Manage supplier onboarding, qualification, and new product development processes.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods in accordance with technical specs and quality standards.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure performance, service-level adherence, and ongoing cost optimization.
  • Track procurement KPIs such as lead times, savings, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Maintain full compliance with internal procurement processes, ESG standards, and data center industry best practices
  • Conduct industry analysis and supply base assessments to evaluate supplier capacity and capabilities

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of procurement experience, preferably in data centers, construction, or infrastructure development.
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-category procurement portfolios.
  • Familiarity with data center systems such as BMS, DCIM, racks, fire protection, and security platforms.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, large-scale infrastructure or data center projects.
  • Proven track record in global procurement and supplier relationship management
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management tools, data analytics, and BI tools
  • Excellent project management, contract management, change management and communication skills
  • Knowledge of sustainability and social responsibility in supply chain
  • Preferred Qualifications :
  • MBA, MS in Supply Chain or advanced degree in engineering or other quantitative disciplines
  • Experience in data center industry, an infrastructure service provider or similar technology company
  • Certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Proven track record in implementing process improvement initiatives and driving operational excellence

    Influence and Persuasion : Able to effectively advocate for their position, build consensus, and secure favorable agreements without compromising relationships.

    Operational Paranoia : Anticipate risks, identify vulnerabilities, and proactively implement mechanisms to prevent and minimize disruptions and safeguard safety, security, availability, and scale.

    Relationship Management : Cultivate trust, collaboration, and long-term partnerships, while building a broad network that provides valuable benchmarking, industry insights, and alternative sourcing options.

    Location and Travel :

  • Work location is flexible to Seattle, WA, Denver, CO, or Alexandria, VA.
  • Regular travel, as needed, to Fleet offices as well as to meet with Vendors.
  • Expected Salary Range : $180,000 - $225,000 + Bonus
