Job description

Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel Respiratory Therapist for a travel job in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Job Description & Requirements

Respiratory Therapist — Key Competencies

  • Provide comprehensive respiratory care, including invasive / non-invasive ventilation, oxygen therapy, and aerosol / nebulizer treatments.
  • Perform patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and educate patients / families on respiratory care and discharge instructions.
  • Conduct airway management : suctioning, chest physiotherapy, tracheostomy care, arterial blood gas sampling, and endotracheal intubation / extubation.
  • Operate and maintain ventilators and respiratory equipment; ensure proper setup, monitoring, and preventative maintenance.
  • Assist with procedures such as bronchoscopies, chest tube placements, and pulmonary function tests.
  • Monitor patients via oximetry, capnography, EKGs, and interpret basic arrhythmias.
  • Accurately document care, communicate with physicians, and perform thorough shift handoffs.
  • Respond to emergencies and perform CPR per BLS and ACLS protocols.
  • Maintain compliance with lab procedures and quality standards when applicable.
