Pay Information $1,894 per week About The Position Job Title : RN - MedSurg / Tele Profession : Registered Nurse Specialty : Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift : 36 hours Experience : Minimum of 2 years Med / Tele RN experience required License : RN License (minimum of Associate's degree) Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required, Basic Cardiac Rhythm test completed during onboarding Must-Have : Strong clinical assessment and time management skills IV insertion and maintenance skills Cardiac monitoring and interpretation Care coordination with interdisciplinary team Discharge planning knowledge and patient education Description : The RN will work in a busy medical-surgical / telemetry unit. The average census is 16 patients. Patient types include chest pain, syncope / vomiting, abdominal pain, cellulitis, COPD exacerbation, heart failure observation, dehydration, hypertension, diabetes, simple trauma, and patients waiting for admission. Patient ratios are RN : 1 : 4-6. The position requires RN experience and the ability to manage various patient conditions. Skills required include trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, glucommander, insulin drips, heparin drips, and the ability to titrate drips based on heart rate. CNA support is available for vital signs, glucose checks, bathing, feeding, and ambulating patients. Unit secretarial support is provided during working hours. Resource nurses are available for discharge and team support. Respiratory therapy is available 24 / 7. The unit is equipped with EMR, IV pumps, med dispensing systems, and cardiac telemetry monitoring. The schedule includes weekend rotation and holiday shifts. The unit culture emphasizes teamwork in a busy working environment. Patients from the emergency room may be transferred to this unit due to bed shortages.
