MIG Welder

PrideStaff is seeking a skilled and consistent MIG Welder for a metal fabrication company in Matthews, NC . The MIG Welder is responsible for all MIG welding on columns and beams and all related materials to both during the steel fabrication process. Must have at minimum 3 years MIG welding experience working with thick gauge structural steel, working with I-Beams and must be able to weld on material ½ inches or thicker.

Location : Matthews, NC 28105

Pay : $22-$24 / hr. based on experience

Schedule : Monday through Friday   6 : 00am - 4 : 30pm

• Weekend work and overtime required

MIG Welder Duties / Responsibilities :

Set up column / beam preparation to the job specification

Measure punched holes according to drawings for accuracy

Order materials from the supply room

Cut PVC drainpipe and install within a column

Install conduit within column / beam if required

Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area

Proficient in using a MIG welding machine

MIG Welder Required Skills / Abilities :

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to follow instructions and provide consistent work.

Must be able to read a tape measure.

MIG Welder Education and Experience :

Minimum 3 years MIG Welding Experience

Completion of a formal apprenticeship program is a plus.

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements :

Prolonged periods of standing and welding.

Must have adequate balance and ability to climb, bend, stoop, and squat.

Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
