Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)

Location : Denver, CO

Facility Type : Senior living community

Employment Type : Permanent Hire

Schedule : Monday – Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM (30-minute meal break)

Weekly Hours : 40 hours (Split between multiple units or facilities)

Weekend Rotation : None

Position Overview

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to support our senior living partner in Denver, CO. This is a dynamic, split-position opportunity ideal for a motivated professional eager to make a difference across multiple settings within a care continuum. The COTA will collaborate with Occupational Therapists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care aimed at restoring function, improving mobility, and enhancing the quality of life for a diverse adult and geriatric population.

Key Responsibilities

Implement therapeutic plans developed by Occupational Therapists to help patients develop, regain, or maintain daily living and work skills.

Assist patients with therapeutic activities including strength and coordination training, fine motor skill improvement, and cognitive rehabilitation.

Observe, report, and document patient responses and progress toward treatment goals.

Communicate effectively with the rehab team and contribute to care planning and adjustment.

Provide education and encouragement to patients and families on adaptive strategies and equipment use.

Maintain safety standards and ensure infection control procedures are consistently followed.

Travel between assigned units or locations within the same healthcare system as needed.

Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.

Current Colorado COTA license (or eligible).

Valid BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred).

At least 1 year of relevant experience in a SNF, outpatient rehab, or similar setting preferred.

Ability to work independently while being an integral part of a collaborative rehab team.

Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
