Job Title : Registered Nurse, Urgent Care Profession : RN Specialty : Urgent Care Duration : 13 weeks Shift : AM 12 Hours Hours per Shift : 930 AM until the last patient is discharged, which can be anywhere from 8 PM to 10 PM, possibly later but not normally. Experience : Minimum of 1 year pediatric experience in an Emergency Department or Urgent Care License : Compact Accepted Certifications : ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have : 1 Reference in entire work history Description : Seeking a Registered Nurse for an Urgent Care position. The position will require flexibility to work at multiple locations if needed. The role includes working three shifts per week, which involves every other weekend (Saturday / Sunday). The urgent care center sees 60-130 patients a day, depending on seasonality. The top diagnoses include asthma exacerbation, injuries, viral illnesses, strep throat, urinary tract infections, and fevers. Procedures performed include splinting, ear flushes, eye flushes, straight catheterization, IV placements, and EKGs. The patient care delivery system is primarily based on primary nursing but follows a hybrid model. Computerized charting is utilized with the Cerner system. Floating is required only under special circumstances, such as call-outs. This is an opportunity to provide urgent care in a fast-paced environment.
