Job description

Corporate Counsel, Employment & Labor

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. We are looking for a Trailblazer to join the Global Employment Legal Team and provide legal counseling to the Employee Success and Employee Relations organizations in the AMER region.

Location & Travel

Office‑flex to Salesforce’s office in San Francisco; remote will not be considered. Travel to team meetings in San Francisco or other scheduled locations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice on employment‑related matters, including hiring, investigations, discipline, terminations, leaves of absence, disability accommodation, wage and hour, anti‑discrimination, compensation and benefits, non‑competition and non‑solicitation, AI tools in employment practices, federal and state contractor compliance, protection of confidential information, and other issues.
  • Handle legal demand letters, charges and other disputes.
  • Collaborate with other employment attorneys on disputes and litigation.
  • Evaluate and work with outside counsel on employment‑related matters, including litigation.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Participate in and influence the decision‑making process with appropriate clients and stakeholders.
  • Consistently anticipate, communicate and propose mitigation strategies for potential risks in active projects; identify and assess legal risks and opportunities.
  • Manage legal projects ranging from basic to sophisticated.
  • Recognize when to elevate certain matters to the attention of the legal leadership.
  • Educate clients on legal matters, policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain relationships, credibility and trust with clients, legal team members and other colleagues.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of legal practice in employment law.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Member of at least one state bar, including the state of the work location.
  • Experience providing employment law advice, including practical applications and issue‑spotting.
  • Experience in employment litigation in one or more states, including California, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, New York, and / or Washington.
  • Experience responding to federal and state / local agency charges.
  • Experience preparing employment policies and training materials.
  • Proven ability to provide tailored, practical, and commercial advice in a user‑friendly manner.
  • Experience supporting multi‑jurisdictional projects.
  • Desired Skills & Experience

  • 1+ year in‑house experience (second‑ment‑based experience acceptable).
  • Experience providing advice directly to clients.
  • Experience working with compensation and benefits programs, including sales compensation plans and bonus programs.
  • Experience working with a U.S. multinational and / or publicly‑traded company.
  • Experience working in a tech company.
  • Salary

    For California‑based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $200,800 to $276,100.
