As the Colorado Safety Manager, you will spearhead our H&S initiatives in the Colorado region, playing a pivotal role in promoting a safe, healthy, and productive work environment. This position requires a dynamic leader capable of fostering a culture of safety excellence across all levels of operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of H&S guidelines, policies, and procedures that align with company objectives.
  • Engage with Business Line Management to tackle challenges and fulfill customer mandates, ensuring robust support for H&S initiatives.
  • Stay ahead of pending legislation and regulatory mandates, crafting compliance strategies and effectively communicating these throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with Line and Project Management on regulatory compliance, incident reporting, and case management.
  • Spearhead safety training programs, ensuring relevance, compliance, and effectiveness.
  • Drive safety culture through behavioral change, influence, and engagement, ensuring safety becomes a core aspect of our operational DNA.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and MSHA regulations, leveraging audits, training, and expert consultations.
  • Maintain a visible and proactive role in the project safety process, acting as a key point for safety process communication and enhancements.
  • Foster relationships with external professionals and organizations to stay abreast of best practices and regulatory compliance.

What We're Looking For

  • OSHA and MSHA Certifications (e.g., OSHA 500 / 510, MSHA Part 46, Certified MSHA instructor).
  • 3-5 years of experience with DOT / FMCSA training, driver qualification files, and Clearinghouse.
  • A Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience and proven results.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in H&S roles, with at least 2 years in management.
  • Preferred qualifications include ASP or CSP certification, Smith System Train the Trainer, and a degree in health and safety from an accredited college / university.
  • 7-10 years of experience in a leadership role is highly desirable.
  • Salary range - USD 76,000 - 114,000
