Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager for a contract opportunity with our client in Newark, California .
Overview
The role involves managing multiple scheduling activities for simultaneous projects in the Interiors team, leveraging expertise in managing automotive trim commodities, and coordinating with various cross-functional teams to accomplish projects within budget constraints and delivery timing.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain detailed Gantt charts of multiple design projects
- Track progress and encourage teamwork to hit each milestone on time
- Interface with the test department and interior trim suppliers to keep the validation program on time for start of vehicle production
- Utilize Jira to communicate engineering tasks and progress
- Utilize Confluence to publish critical information and updates
- Provide regular progress updates to management and the executive staff
- Lead design release and engineering change requests through the ECR system
- Provide technical guidance to solve engineering challenges with mechanical systems
- Proactively work with other teams and lead initiatives to solve complex launch challenges, while maintaining positive relationships between stakeholders
- Occasional trips to the manufacturing plant in Arizona to support build activities
- Present to executive staff when required
- Support cost breakdown review of parts and work cross-functionally to establish should costs and targets, and help connect teams and suppliers
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent5+ years of work experience preferably in automotive domainRequirements
Basic knowledge and experience with CAD programsExperience with Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Tableau or similarProven experience and knowledge of interiors trim systems, experienced in manufacturing related processes (injection molding, die casting, thixomolding, covering, mechanical assembly, welding, post processing, weakening)Exceptional communication in written and verbal EnglishAbility to develop strategic planning related to project timing, cost, and technical requirementsExperience creating and using GANTT chartsA positive attitude with a drive to learn and contribute meaningfullyFlexibility to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to draw decisions using data and metricsExperience in leading design release and change managementExperience with concept to launch, vehicle development and product launch or consumer product launchPreferred Requirements
PMP / CAPM certificationCATIA / 3DX experience is desirableExperience developing automations that integrate with Excel, Jira, CATIA, VBA, Python, Tableau, Dashboard etc.Shift
