Travel Nurse RN - Labor & Delivery - $2,236 per week in Smyrna, TN

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : RN Specialty : Labor & Delivery Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 hours Experience : Minimum 2 years License : RN Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring Must-Have : Drive to provide the highest quality of care to patients. Ability to support patient choice and promote vaginal birth opportunities specific to patient preference. Description : The unit has 9 labor and delivery beds, 3 swing rooms, 2 operating rooms, and 3 observation beds. Patient ratios are 1 : 2. Unit staffing includes a unit secretary and scrub tech, dedicated CRNA, and midwife in-house 24 / 7. Client availability on call. Documentation systems used are CPN and Meditech. Scheduling requires 4 weekend shifts per month. Floating policy includes floating to maternity or outside departments as needed. Patient experience requirement is to remain above 75%. Advanced skills are needed in spinning babies and STABLE. Procedures performed on the unit include circulating in the operating room, IUPC, FSE, magnesium sulfate administration, and managing postpartum hemorrhage. The laborist team model is utilized with continuous midwife and dedicated CRNA on call. We personalize each birth experience to meet patients' desires and needs. Couplet care is performed in the postpartum unit to allow newborns to remain at the bedside and promote breastfeeding with donor milk availability when needed. There is an 8-bed Level 2 NICU with a neonatal nurse practitioner dedicated to the unit 24 / 7. The neonatal nurse practitioner is available to attend all high-risk deliveries when needed.
