Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in New York requiring a valid NY RN license, 5 years of ED experience, and EPIC proficiency.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

Work in the Emergency Department (ED) of a hospital setting

Cares for a variety of emergency and mental health crisis patients

12-hour night shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM

Schedule includes every other weekend and holiday

Uses EPIC as the charting system; prior EPIC experience is required

Must be able to evaluate and manage mental health crises for ED patients

An on-site ECG exam must be completed with a required passing score and study materials will be provided prior to start

Facility may cancel up to 5 shifts per contract

Adherence to holiday and weekend coverage requirements is expected

Review of ECG study guide is strongly encouraged prior to starting

First-time travelers will be considered

Active New York State RN license required

Minimum of 5 years recent Emergency Department nursing experience

Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, and PALS

Must be skilled in crisis evaluation for mental health patients in the ED

Must pass a closed-book, timed on-site ECG exam with provided study materials

Experience with EPIC charting required

Flu vaccination required; medical or religious exemption documentation must be provided 10 days before start

Facility physical required prior to start (fee applies)

Candidates cannot reside in or have a permanent address in Warren, Washington, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, Ulster, or Albany counties

Candidates who have worked as staff at this facility in the last year or within the AMC network in the past six months are not eligible
