Job Summary & Scope :
The Host serves as the first point of contact for guests, playing a crucial role in shaping their overall dining experience. As the initial representative of the establishment, this position holds significant responsibility in creating a positive first impression. Hosts and Hostesses must demonstrate exceptional etiquette, service standards, and organizational skills, while working collaboratively with the team to provide efficient and seamless service. The ability to navigate challenging situations, along with strong problem-solving skills, is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities :
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and providing excellent first impressions.
- Answer and manage telephone calls, recording messages and handling inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Oversee the setup of dining and service areas, ensuring they are ready to accommodate guests efficiently.
- Manage seating arrangements, offering guests suitable seating with a personable and attentive demeanor.
- Politely inform guests of wait times, directing them to the waiting area when necessary, and ensure their comfort while they wait.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of host / hostess stations, ensuring all areas are presentable at all times.
- Present menus to guests, provide recommendations, and address any questions regarding the menu or restaurant offerings.
- Communicate special requests to management, ensuring that guest needs are promptly and accurately fulfilled.
- Support the service team by assisting with table preparation and maintaining a smooth flow of operations.
- Oversee the upkeep of both the interior and exterior of the restaurant, ensuring a clean and inviting environment.
- Address and resolve guest concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Deliver food and beverages to tables when needed, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Foster clear communication between staff and guests to ensure excellent service delivery and guest satisfaction.
Requirements :
Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is advantageous.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage professionally with guests and team members.Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.Ability to remain calm and composed when handling guest concerns or difficult situations.Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization.Ability to stand for long periods of time and perform physical tasks such as bending, walking, and lifting light to moderate weights as needed.Note :
