Fanatics Collectibles is seeking an Editor to join a collaborative and growing Topps.com Product Development team. This role will report to our Editor II for Topps.com. They’ll work very closely with our Art Directors and Product Managers to develop content for trading cards across major sports licenses for basketball, baseball, college sports, football, soccer, as well as entertainment licenses. Our ideal candidate has a passion and knowledge of sports and entertainment licenses and a very strong attention to detail who wants to contribute their skills and ideas broadly in a truly supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

Research and develop text and statistics-based card back content for collectible trading card products. This position will feature a lot of writing

Assist the Editor II in selecting and assigning high-quality, design-appropriate photographic images for Topps Now / e-commerce product retouching and development

Work with external and internal photo contacts throughout production

Maintain and manage imagery usage reports for all assigned products

Follow assigned prepress budgets for image use

Partner with design team to create and execute on production schedules and assist with licensor submissions when needed

Review proofs for accuracy and integrity and communicate any necessary edits to the design team

Collaborate with Product Managers, Associate Product Managers and design teams to help develop themes and looks for assigned projects

Participate in product review and brainstorming sessions for upcoming production cycles

Stay highly tuned-in to daily events across major sports and pop culture

Excellent, in-depth knowledge of professional sports, historical and current (particularly with basketball)

Recognition of player likenesses, past and present

Understanding of licensor style guides, uniforms, colors, logos and markings

Foundational knowledge of graphic design, photographic principles, and print production

Experience with Microsoft Suite; intermediate understanding of Microsoft Excel

Ability to work under pressure, meeting tight deadlines across multiple projects

Organized and attentive to detail. Accuracy is paramount for this role

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field preferred

Passion for and / or knowledge of brands in the Topps portfolio is a PLUS

The salary range for this position is $62,000 - $77,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.

About The Team

Fanatics Collectibles is a leading licensor, producer, designer, and seller of physical and digital trading cards, sports memorabilia, and other digital assets for entertainment and sports properties globally, as well as a manufacturer of physical and digital trading cards. It has secured exclusive licensing arrangements with major national professional sports leagues, including the MLB, NFL and the NBA, and related players associations, to produce physical and digital trading cards and other collectibles.

Fanatics Collectibles also has partnerships with a number of individual international sports teams and leagues, as well as owners of other entertainment properties granting similar exclusive rights.
