Clinical Supervisor—BCBA Job Description

This was established to provide evidence-based behavioral support for adults with aberrant behavior. We strive to improve the lives of our consumers by utilizing applied behavior analysis, an effective, science-based approach to understanding behavior. The Clinical Supervisor will have a focus on the clinical services provided. The Clinical Supervisor will have the clinical freedom to implement various evidence-based interventions that are consistent with the mission and values. All staff are trained in SafetyCare, which teaches ways to prevent, minimize, and de-escalate intense target behavior.

The duties of the clinical supervisor are :

• To develop an annual behavior treatment plan, following a functional behavior assessment, in which target behaviors are contextualized and analyzed in a way that is consistent with the complexities of the human environment and learning histories. Modifications and addendums to the plan can be made as needed to address changing wants and needs.
• To implement the portions of the plan that require face-to-face therapy with the individuals we serve, ideally in a naturalistic and opportunistic teaching context with an emphasis on respect, dignity, and autonomy of the individual.
• To communicate the treatment plan with the direct care staff in a way that is approachable and digestible, and then to use different training methods to help the staff gain mastery of the plan and data collection.
• To be flexible in designing their schedule to have sufficient clinical contact with all staff members, including those who work in the evening and at night
• To oversee the direct care staff's timely and accurate data collection implementation and to record the data in a visually effective graph to show stakeholders and members of the treatment team progress toward accomplishing goals.
• To complete and submit high-quality clinical documentation in a timely manner consistent with the requirements of the Community Mental Health Agency.
• To model and reinforce a positive cultural environment for both the individuals we serve and the direct care staff, placing an emphasis on verbal behavior and principles of radical behaviorism. This includes the dignified and behavior-based emphasis of discussing the occurrence and progress of target behavior(s), communication of respect and dignity of those we serve and their stakeholders, and the thoughtfulness of the way the staff communicate with each other internally.
• To coordinate with the administrator and members of the upper management team to ensure the needs of the clients and the direct care staff are being met, both on a day-to-day level (with the administrator) and on a larger scale (with the upper management team).
• To collaborate with other behavior analysts within the network, as well as other professionals outside of the company.
