About the job

CRG Automation is seeking a Business Development Manager who will focus on identifying and developing direct opportunities with end users while cultivating the referral and partner networks that support those efforts. This is a proactive, hands-on role responsible for building the top of our sales pipeline through strategic outreach, informed targeting, and deep industry engagement.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Take ownership of direct outreach to end users — including identifying target accounts, building prospect lists, crafting outbound strategies, and securing introductory meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Develop or coordinate the creation of effective sales collateral, messaging, and outbound materials tailored to industry segments and customer needs.
  • Engage directly with prospective customers to uncover automation challenges and qualify potential project opportunities.
  • Cultivate and manage a supporting network of partners — including OEMs, vendors, distributors, and industry / community liaisons — to help identify and refer new business.
  • Represent CRG Automation at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to elevate brand visibility and generate leads.
  • Collaborate with internal teams — including engineering, applications, and sales — to align on qualification criteria and transition viable leads into active pursuits.

Desired Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of proven success in outside industrial sales, preferably within the packaging, robotics, or manufacturing automation industry.
  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, automation, robotics, or related technical fields preferred (but not required)
  • A self-starter who thrives in outbound business development and enjoys the challenge of opening new doors through direct engagement.
  • Experienced in capital equipment, automation, or systems integration sales or business development — with a strong grasp of the technical buyer’s mindset.
  • Comfortable building and managing structured prospecting campaigns, CRM tracking, and lead generation tools.
  • Ability to understand complex automation systems and effectively communicate technical concepts to clients.
  • Ability to conceptualize technical solutions on the spot based on client needs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment to achieve sales objectives.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • Mechanical aptitude and proficient problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organization and follow-through skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and a goal-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient in Excel, Windows, Outlook, Salesforce CRM, and other relevant software.
  • Experience in managing complex sales cycles with a consultative approach.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to successfully pass pre-employment background and drug screenings.
  • What We Offer :

  • Competitive salary with performance-based incentives.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and retirement plans.
  • Company-paid life and long-term disability insurance.
  • Opportunity to work with an innovative team at the forefront of automation technology.
