CRG Automation is seeking a Business Development Manager who will focus on identifying and developing direct opportunities with end users while cultivating the referral and partner networks that support those efforts. This is a proactive, hands-on role responsible for building the top of our sales pipeline through strategic outreach, informed targeting, and deep industry engagement.
Key Responsibilities :
- Take ownership of direct outreach to end users — including identifying target accounts, building prospect lists, crafting outbound strategies, and securing introductory meetings with key stakeholders.
- Develop or coordinate the creation of effective sales collateral, messaging, and outbound materials tailored to industry segments and customer needs.
- Engage directly with prospective customers to uncover automation challenges and qualify potential project opportunities.
- Cultivate and manage a supporting network of partners — including OEMs, vendors, distributors, and industry / community liaisons — to help identify and refer new business.
- Represent CRG Automation at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to elevate brand visibility and generate leads.
- Collaborate with internal teams — including engineering, applications, and sales — to align on qualification criteria and transition viable leads into active pursuits.
Desired Qualifications :
5+ years of proven success in outside industrial sales, preferably within the packaging, robotics, or manufacturing automation industry.Master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, automation, robotics, or related technical fields preferred (but not required)A self-starter who thrives in outbound business development and enjoys the challenge of opening new doors through direct engagement.Experienced in capital equipment, automation, or systems integration sales or business development — with a strong grasp of the technical buyer’s mindset.Comfortable building and managing structured prospecting campaigns, CRM tracking, and lead generation tools.Ability to understand complex automation systems and effectively communicate technical concepts to clients.Ability to conceptualize technical solutions on the spot based on client needs.Excellent problem-solving skills with a client-focused approach.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers.Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment to achieve sales objectives.Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.Mechanical aptitude and proficient problem-solving skills.Strong organization and follow-through skills.Demonstrated leadership qualities and a goal-oriented mindset.Proficient in Excel, Windows, Outlook, Salesforce CRM, and other relevant software.Experience in managing complex sales cycles with a consultative approach.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.Ability to successfully pass pre-employment background and drug screenings.What We Offer :
