Entry Level Drafting Associate

Nesco Resource's client has an exciting opportunity for an Entry-Level Drafting Associate (Intern / Trainee) to join our team. They are one of the largest structural steel fabrication companies in the U.S., specializing in all types of structural steel buildings, serving Arizona, Southern California, New Mexico, and Southern Nevada.
This 90-day, full-time opportunity will introduce you to the industry, drafting technology, structural steel, and technical graphics. No prior experience is required.

Responsibilities :
Assist in creating detailed drawings and models using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other drafting software.Interpret and revise blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications for structural steel components.Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure design accuracy and project adherence.Update and maintain drawing documentation and filing systems.Support the drafting team with general tasks and assist in resolving drafting-related issues.Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards.Participate in project meetings and contribute to the design process.Training Areas :
You will receive on-the-job training in the following areas :
AISC detailing for steel constructionBasic technical graphics and drawing interpretationCAD detailingData entry for CNC machinesDocument control and processingQualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalent (required)Basic knowledge of technical graphics, drafting principles, or relevant education is a plusIntermediate math skills (Basic Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry)Strong computer skills (experience with software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu, Tekla is a plus )Ability to read and comprehend technical documents and fabrication drawings is a plusStrong attention to detail and willingness to learnAbility to work independently and as part of a teamInterest OR experience in drafting, construction, or structural steel design is a plusPhysical Requirements :
Spend up to six hours per day sitting at a computer.Occasional standing, walking, and handling of structural drawings.Occasional entry into the shop may be required.Benefits :
