Job description

Job Summary We’re hiring an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) with deep labor-relations expertise to serve as a trusted strategic advisor to leadership. You’ll align HR initiatives with business objectives, navigate complex union dynamics, and foster a compliant, engaged, and productive workplace.

Key Responsibilities :

Strategic HR Partnership

  • Partner with senior leaders to shape workforce strategies that drive business success.
  • Advise on talent planning, organizational restructuring, and succession management.

Labor Relations Leadership

  • Serve as the central liaison for all union matters, from contract negotiations to daily administration.
  • Lead collective bargaining, interpret agreements, and ensure full legal compliance.
  • Resolve grievances, prepare for arbitration, and mediate disputes fairly and efficiently.
  • Employee Relations

  • Cultivate a culture of open dialogue and trust across union and non-union teams.
  • Conduct thorough, impartial investigations into complaints and policy violations.
  • Compliance & Risk Mitigation

  • Monitor evolving labor legislation and proactively counsel leaders on compliance risks.
  • Collaborate with internal / external legal teams on high-stakes labor issues.
  • HR Analytics & Operations

  • Leverage HR data to spot trends, boost engagement, and enhance productivity.
  • Champion performance management, learning programs, and DEI initiatives.
  • Change Management

  • Guide leaders and unions through restructurings, mergers, or policy shifts with clear communication and minimal disruption.
  • Qualifications : Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience

  • 5–7+ years in HR, with significant hands-on labor-relations and employee-relations experience.
  • Demonstrated success in union negotiations, contract management, and grievance handling.
  • Knowledge & Skills

  • Expert knowledge of labor laws, CBAs, and employment regulations.
  • Exceptional communication, influence, and relationship-building abilities across all levels.
  • Proven conflict-resolution skills and composure under pressure.
  • Strategic mindset with strong business acumen to translate HR into measurable outcomes.
