WATER DISTRIBUTION OPERATOR POSITIONS

Tasks and duties may include routine fire hydrant flushing, fire hydrant repair, water main flow testing, water service connections, water main and component repair, water service repair, water production via in-ground wells, wellhouse maintenance, utility locating with MISSDIG system, asset locating and GPS, general building and grounds maintenance, daily water sampling and water sampling compliance with EGLE monitoring plan and several other operations of the water system. Some small-scale landscaping work and equipment maintenance may be necessary. Applicants must possess the ability to perform math, follow written and / or verbal instructions and to problem solve multiple situations.

Applicants will be interacting with various departments within Charlevoix Township (Fire and Recreation), customers, residents, contractors, supply vendors of the township and must always display a positive image and attitude of / towards Charlevoix Township.

Description is brief and doesn’t include all aspects. Applicants will also complete all tasks directed by the Operator in Charge.

• Recommended Requirements
• Class A Commercial driver’s license with air brake and combination vehicle trailer endorsement is a requirement, or the ability to obtain this license. A valid medical examiner card is required within sixty (60) days of hiring.
• Clean driving history.
• Ability to pass background check without issues.

• $23.50-$28.00 / HR depending on experience
