The Opportunity
We’re hiring for a Tax Manager to sit in our Ronkonkoma, NY office.
Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following :
Manage client engagements from start to finish, which includes planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects and managing to budgetSupervise, train, and mentor staff on tax projects and assessing performance of staff for engagement reviews; perform in‑charge role as neededMaintain extensive knowledge of accounting rules and regulations and applies technical knowledge in a practical business mannerEnsure that assignments are accomplished within the budgeted timeInteract with clients to discuss issues with regard to tax information throughout the yearDevelop technical knowledge through participation in organization meetings, training programs, attending industry events and participation in research activitiesDemonstrate genuine interest in and commitment to our client’s successPrimary point of contact for clients and regularly interfaces with client’s senior managementRecognize complex technical issues, uses strategic decision‑making skills and reaches appropriate conclusionsBe a present and active participant in tax planning projectsMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent is required6+ years’ of progressive tax preparationMust have advanced knowledge in corporate, federal and state and local tax, as well as have a solid background in C Corps, partnerships and individualsStrong tax accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate consolidated returns, consolidated federal tax returns, partnership returns, and combined state tax returnsAbility to manage staff on multiple engagements, and possess strong leadership skillsPossesses a strong understanding of client’s industry, business, needs and expectations and discusses with clients areas for improvement in business operationsStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenProficient with a computer software packages and platforms including Microsoft Office Suite, Tax software, ProSystems and CCHAbout Our Firm
