The Director of Tax is responsible for leading the company’s tax compliance, planning, and reporting. This includes federal, state, and local tax obligations, as well as regulatory reporting and risk management. The role ensures the bank maintains a strong tax governance framework while optimizing its tax position. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and review of all corporate tax filings, including income, franchise, sales / use, property, and other taxes.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
• Manage tax provision and reporting under ASC 740, including quarterly and annual tax disclosures.
• Develop and maintain internal controls over tax processes and documentation.
• Lead tax audits and manage relationships with tax authorities and external advisors.
• Provide strategic tax guidance on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate transactions.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess potential impact on the company.
• Drive process improvements and automation in tax reporting and compliance.
• Advise on tax implications of new banking products, services, and strategic initiatives.
• Execute and oversee Compensation Accounting activities.
