Summary

Assists in the care and treatment of feedlot cattle by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Monitors cattle by riding the feedlot pens on horseback to identify sick injured or stressed animals; removes the sick or injured cattle from pens to be medically treated.
• Assists with the receiving unloading sorting and processing of cattle as assigned by the Feedlot and / or Cattle Manager.
• Assists in the medical treatment of sick or injured cattle by following an established medical-treatment plan provided by the Staff Veterinarian.
• Moves cattle from pen to pen as instructed by the Cattle Manager and / or Lead Cowboy to rotate cattle according to production schedules.
• Trains shoes feeds and medically treats horses to provide healthy productive animals.
• Other duties may be assigned.
