The Assistant Terminal Manager is responsible for coordinating the intermodal operations, maintenance and associated administrative functions in order to meet customer standards and maximize profits.

• Responsible for assisting in the supervision of subordinate personnel to ensure that all work is accomplished in a consistent manner with organizational requirements.
• Conduct employee training sessions on subjects such as hazardous material handling, employee orientations, quality improvements and computer usage.
• Participate in union contract negotiations and settlements of grievances.
• Collaborate with other managers and staff members in order to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
• Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, union contracts, and government regulations.
• Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings, and meeting with individual staff members.
• Direct activities of staff performing repairs and maintenance to equipment, vehicles, and facilities.
• Conduct investigations to determine causes of accidents and to improve safety procedures.
• Analyze expenditures and other financial information in order to develop plans, policies, and budgets for increasing profits and improving services.
• Set operations policies and standards, including determination of safety procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.
