Job Description : I. PURPOSE OF JOB :
To provide Physical Therapy services to patients throughout the lifespan, who have impairments and functional limitations, disabilities or changes in their physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes. Upon referral from a physician, the physical therapist interacts and practices in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to provide prevention and wellness services. They consult, educate and engage in critical inquiry and administrate care. They direct, provide and supervise physical therapy services.
II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : (TASKS)
Integrates the five elements of patient management (examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, and intervention) in manner to maximize patient outcomes.
Performs accurate and timely documentation.
Administers Physical therapy interventions using various therapy methods and techniques to produce changes in the condition that are consistent with the diagnosis and prognosis.
Selects appropriate interventions to be included in the plan of care.
Educates the patient and / or significant other in the treatment intervention and diagnosis.
Delegates appropriately to supportive personnel
Job Qualifications :
accredited program in physical therapy
B. Experience : Current Licensure in the State of Pennsylvania as a Physical Therapist
Previous work experience, as a physical therapist is desirable
Must possess the skills necessary to problem solve and be able to demonstrated good judgment
and decision making.
Active member of the American Physical Therapy Association is desirable.
Certified in CPR / BLS.
