RN-ICU ratio is 1 : 2. First-timers are not accepted. Weekend requirement is every other weekend. Skills required include : - Medical Intensive Care Unit - Surgical Intensive Care Unit - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction / failure - Obtain 12 lead EKG / ECG - Central Venous Pressure Monitoring - Pulmonary Artery Line / Swan Ganz monitoring - Chronic / Acute Renal failure - Arterial line management - Blood Product Administration - Central line care / management - PICC line management - Starting and maintaining IVs - Continuous IV sedation - Emergency medications - Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips - CVA / Acute Stroke management - Assist with management of BiPAP - Care of ventilated patients - Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases - Respiratory failure management - Suctioning (ETT, NT) - Ventilator management - Infection prevention and isolation precautions - Phlebotomy - Surgical wounds with drains / Wound Vac On-call requirement is not applicable. Clinician may float within service line to meet facility needs. Open to accommodating block schedule is no. Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility. Pending license is accepted. Request for time off is no more than 7 days. Guaranteed hours are 3 shifts per 13 weeks. Cancelled shifts must be regular shift length. Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments may be required as needed per unit. Patient diagnoses include : - Respiratory failure / ARDS - Acute chest pain / cardiac / arrhythmias - Stroke - Cardiac arrest - Diabetic Ketoacidosis - Multi-organ failure - Sepsis Unit details include : - Pre and post-op cardiac, thoracic, and abdominal surgeries - Medicine and neuro-medicine overflow - Pre and post-transplant care - End-of-life and organ donation Special equipment utilized includes : - IV pumps / titration - CRRT / dialysis - Ventilator / BIPAP - Hemodynamic / invasive monitoring - Defibrillator / crash cart Type of Facility is Short Term Acute Care. Facility status includes Magnet and Teaching Hospital. Total staffed beds are 1259. Charting system used is Epic. References are required and may be required at the time of submission. Candidates may be required to float within the hospital or affiliate hospitals nearby. Specific charting experience is required. Valid state license is required at the time of submission. No local candidates are accepted within a 75-mile radius. All standard travelers can stay for an 18-month period and must take a 3-month break after that. Modules must be completed prior to start and are non-billable.
