American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN to join the Telemetry Float Pool, requiring an active AZ or compact RN license and advanced cardiac skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital-based Telemetry Float Pool, floating between Telemetry and MedSurg unitsPatients include post-cardiac procedures, neuro, ortho, oncology, and general medical-surgical cases, ages 15 and olderPatient ratios typically 1 : 3-4 for Telemetry and Neuro units, 1 : 4 on MedSurg unitsShift schedule is 12-hour nights with 4 weekend shifts per schedule and 2 of 3 major holidays requiredFirst to float across Tele, MedSurg, ICU (if skilled), Cardiac Tele, observation, and holding areas; may float between two campuses 9 miles apartUses Cerner for EMR documentation; experience with Cerner preferredTelemetry units use centralized monitoring; GE monitors used on MedSurg unitsNo pediatric patients; no ventilator care requiredProvide comprehensive telemetry nursing care to a variety of patient populations, including post-surgical and cardiology casesMay be required to float mid-shift between units or campuses based on staffing needsNotify of float location 1.5 hours before shift start; rare float to another campus within a shift is possibleMust wear navy scrubsCharge nurse and clinical supervisor available for support; patient care technicians present depending on unit and shift24 / 7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy coverageMust participate in floor-specific orientation (2 shifts per floor / unit)First-time travelers may be consideredMust work assigned holidays and follow weekend shift requirementsLocal candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ RN license or compact (NLC) RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of recent Telemetry nursing experienceCurrent ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications requiredExperience titrating cardiac drips such as Amiodarone, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, Dobutamine requiredMust be able to interpret EKGsSubmission must include a copy of driver's licenseMust provide two references : one supervisor from the past year and one peer or supervisor from the past three years (with dates and rehire eligibility)Successful completion of a dysrhythmia exam (max two attempts) prior to contract signingPass / fail Sim Lab testing on day one of orientationCandidates cannot have worked at any affiliated health system as a direct employee in the past year\n Benefits\n
