Airport Police & Fire Officer 5 / Deputy Chief - Operations (PCN 253635)
Position located at Anchorage International Airport (ANC) Police and Fire Department. Responsible for overseeing and managing law enforcement, Aircraft Rescue Firefighting, rescue operations, hazardous material response, EMS, code enforcement, safety, and general emergency response functions. Manages staffing, equipment, budget, and departmental policy. Supports 54 employees including officers and technicians; may also direct the Airport Communication Center in the Chief’s absence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all law enforcement and firefighting operations at ANC.
- Coordinate aircraft rescue and firefighting, hazardous material response, EMS, code enforcement, safety, and general emergency response.
- Manage staffing, equipment, budget and readiness, ensuring operational capabilities.
- Provide recommendations for departmental policy changes and enforce department policies and procedures.
- Administer and supervise up to 54 employees, including 12 APFO leads, 41 officers and 1 criminal justice technician.
- Direct Airport Communication Center and perform additional administrative duties in the Chief’s absence.
