About The Position

Previous charge experience preferred.

Experience with patient ratios of 4-5.

Experience with a charting system preferred.

Description :

The position involves working in a pediatric unit with a daily census of 24 patients.

The unit has the capacity to flex up to 40 patient beds.

Common patient diagnoses include respiratory illnesses, diabetes complications, postoperative surgeries, and hematology / oncology diagnoses.

Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy.

Responsibilities include the administration of medications, managing central lines, and caring for patients with various pediatric conditions.

Nurses are expected to assist with procedures, perform patient assessments, and educate families on care plans.

Participation in rapid response teams may be required.

Employees must float to different units as needed.

Mandatory holiday coverage is expected at 50%.

Floating may include roles as patient observers.

Experience with Cerner preferred.

CPI Blue Card may be required for certain specialties.
