Job Description :

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial aspects of grant-funded programs. This role requires expertise in accounting, grant management, and compliance to ensure that funds are appropriately tracked, reported, and utilized in accordance with grant requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities :

• Monitor and manage all financial activities related to grants, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

Prepare and submit grant financial reports to funding agencies in a timely and accurate manner.

Ensure compliance with grant terms and conditions, including allowable costs, budget restrictions, and reporting requirements.

Perform monthly reconciliations of grant accounts and ensure accuracy in financial records.

Track grant expenditures and revenues, and provide analysis of budget variances.

Collaborate with program managers and project teams to develop grant budgets and ensure proper allocation of funds.

Maintain detailed documentation for all grant-related financial transactions and support audits as needed.

Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and financial statements as they relate to grants.

Monitor grant cash flow and work with accounts payable and receivable teams to ensure timely payments and collections.

Provide support and training to program staff on financial aspects of grant management.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

3+ years of experience in grant accounting, financial management, or a related role.

Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and federal grant regulations (e.g., OMB Uniform Guidance).

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with various departments.

Experience with non-profit or governmental accounting is required.
