Accounting Manager Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities :
- Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department for Blue Bird Day, Eyas Landing, and Merlin Day Academy.
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger and month-end / year-end close process.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Establish and maintain internal controls over financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and external audit requirements.
- Enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles in alignment with GAAP
- Support audits by preparing documentation and coordinating with external auditors
- Oversee and support the accounts payable and revenue reconciliation functions.
- Work with the revenue cycle and billing departments to ensure accurate revenue recognition.
- Monitor payer reimbursement trends, patient receivables, and operational cost
- Supervise, train, and mentor staff accountants and other finance team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Implement process improvements for greater efficiency.
- Collaborate with department managers to prepare annual budgets and forecasts.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to leadership to support strategic decisions.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA preferred).10+ years of accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a supervisory roleAdvanced computer skills in MS Excel, accounting and reporting software.Experience with EHR / EMR integration and healthcare billing systems preferred.Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Birds of a feather...work together!
