Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,236 per week in Saint Joseph, MO

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : PCU Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : 2 years nursing experience required License : Pending license acceptable, must be in hand prior to start Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have : - Experience in handling complex patient conditions - Ability to float between units as needed - Self-scheduling capability - Experience in managing a patient ratio of 1 : 5 - Competency in charting and using EPIC Description : Two PCU / Tele RNs are needed for day shifts. Float required to other units as necessary. Every third weekend commitment is required, which includes eight weekend shifts over the contract period. The unit specializes in managing patients with serious, complex health conditions requiring long-term acute care treatments. Common conditions treated include respiratory failure, osteomyelitis, complex wound care, hyperoxygenation therapy, acute kidney injury, and post-stroke recovery. The role emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration with various support services, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Candidates should be familiar with specialized treatments and possess skills such as management of dysrhythmias, complex wound care, and infection prevention. Charting will be done using the EPIC system, and previous experience in this system is preferred. Travel experience is also preferred for candidates applying for this role.
