Field Inventory Specialist

Corin is seeking a Field Inventory Specialist who will control and oversee our consignment inventory (Corin-owned assets / instruments) within the US, to ensure operational success for our direct and indirect Corin customers through improved inventory information, asset utilization, and cost containment. Corin is a hip and knee implant orthopedic business with revolutionary technologies that optimize the positioning of the implants to provide better patient outcomes.

This is a field-based, hands-on role that’s highly visible with up to 75% US travel at times; working with physicians, hospitals, distributors, and agent partners.

This role will ideally be based in Raynham on a hybrid basis so you can build effective relationships with the customer services, distribution, and loaners teams. You will also be required to partner with Field Operations, Sales, and Marketing, to obtain information regarding audits, reconciliation, and product retrieval, and achieve operational excellence.

Our ideal Field Inventory Specialist will have / be

  • Inventory, stock management, or inventory cycle counting experience within the field, ideally within a medical or healthcare environment
  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management would be highly desirable
  • Able to demonstrate Excel database management experience with the ability to use pivot tables and VLook ups to manage data effectively
  • Strong communication skills
  • Highly accountable and flexible with travel

The key responsibilities of the Field Inventory Specialist are

1)Inventory Management and Audits

  • Optimize cost reduction opportunities through inventory management at assigned region accounts
  • Perform regular physical counts of inventory and capital assets within the field to maintain accurate reporting.
  • Ensure consigned inventory is accounted for accurately through regular field audits
  • Streamline inventory
  • Resolve any inventory discrepancies and escalate any systematic issues
  • Recover expiring and underutilized inventory.
  • Cost-effectively maintain Annual Audit requirements.
  • 2) Reporting and Analysis

  • Proactively monitor, analyze, and report on inventory.
  • Create standard reports regarding consignment inventory status, project updates, improvement impacts, etc
  • Measure asset performance (turns) trends.
  • Recommend inventory improvement opportunities that benefit the agency and Corin’s business goals.
  • Prioritize workflow in line with daily, weekly, and monthly objectives
  • Analyse the performance of consigned assets and act to retrieve inventory where it is not needed or no longer justified.
  • 3) Relationship management

  • Establish direct relationships with agencies, understanding the efficiency limits within each territory to optimize consignment levels.
  • Perform requisite training at agencies to help agents and agent representatives establish more efficient operations.
  • Working closely with key internal partners in the field and within the US distribution center in Raynham
