The unit accommodates adults and geriatric patients. Current maximum patient load is 18, with plans to increase to 24. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 6 : 1. Equipment used includes bladder scanners, glucometers, etc. The electronic health record system is Medhost. Common diagnoses include pneumonia, CVA, chest pain, post-surgical recovery, electrolyte imbalances, and DVT among others. Teamwork is essential as the environment promotes a family-like atmosphere. Candidates must possess the necessary certifications and licensure to work as an RN. Dress code includes any scrub color, with no casual wear permitted. This position does not involve floating to other units. No call requirements are associated with this role.
