Job Description & Requirements Specialty : PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 17 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Local Contract Job Title : Registered Nurse - Trauma Step-Down / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Location : Bradenton, FL Shift : Full-Time | 12-Hour Nights (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM) | Rotating Weekends Hours per Week : 36 Employment Type : Permanent Key Responsibilities : Deliver evidence-based nursing care to acutely ill or post-trauma patients in the step-down or PCU setting. Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and vital signs accurately. Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes. Educate patients and families on care plans, recovery processes, and discharge instructions. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR). Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition promptly, escalating care when necessary. Uphold infection prevention and patient safety standards at all times. Participate in quality improvement and performance initiatives within the unit. Qualifications : Required : Active Florida RN License or Compact License (must obtain FL license within 90 days if compact). Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience, preferably in a hospital setting. Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association). Preferred : Experience in Progressive Care, Trauma, LTACH, Home Health, or Rehab settings.
