Job description12-hour orientation provided Patient ratio of 6 : 1 for days, nights, and weekends Weekend coverage required with every other holiday Can be pulled to all other inpatient units as needed No guaranteed specific scheduling requests (block scheduling not available) Minimum 2 years experience in specialty required Must live over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted) Care for patients with chest pain, CAD, PVD, arrhythmias, DM, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, hypertension, MI, renal failure, pulmonary embolism, CHF, GI bleed, and syncope Handle med-surg overflow patients including GI bleed, sepsis, CVA, and COVID+ cases Perform pre / post cath lab procedures, PPM / AICD, ablations, and vascular surgeries Titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, and heparin Perform sheath pulling at bedside Work with telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, and wound vacs Required certifications : BLS, ACLS, telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Must have skills in CABG care, post angiogram / MI / cardiac cath procedures, port accessing, blood product administration, central / peripheral / PICC line care, IV starts, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration Louisiana nursing license or compact license required upon submittal NURSYS report required within 4 weeks of submission May be assigned to Emergency Team during hurricane season (June 1 - November 30) with expectation to remain at facility during storms Referral bonus

The organization specializes in cardiac care with capabilities for complex procedures and monitoring, serving adult and geriatric patient populations with a full range of cardiovascular and medical-surgical conditions.
