ER RN Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : East Saint Louis, IL 62207 (Illinois healthcare jobs)

Facility Setting : Emergency Department (ER)

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse

Start Date : September 15, 2025

End Date : December 15, 2025

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Shift : 12-hour day shifts (10am-10pm)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1740 - $1860

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN)

Active Illinois Registered Nurse license

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification (within 1 year of hire)

PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification (within 1 year of hire)

De-Escalation training required

Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an ER RN or in an acute care / emergency department setting

ER Nurse Responsibilities

Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to promote positive patient outcomes

Assess and monitor patient clinical conditions using objective and subjective data

Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for emergency department patients

Utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment in all aspects of patient care

Demonstrate advanced clinical competencies and skills relevant to emergency nursing

Coordinate and deliver patient and family education based on identified needs

Administer, manage, and reconcile medications safely

Document patient care, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)

Delegate tasks appropriately to support staff according to skill level and scope of practice

Triage patients efficiently using the ESI triage algorithm

Provide care for sexual assault victims, including documentation and evidence handling

Facilitate patient flow and prioritize care in a fast-paced emergency setting

Communicate effectively with EMS, first responders, and the healthcare team

Respond to hospital codes and participate in emergency response teams

Offer compassionate communication to patients and families during trauma or crisis situations

Manage expired patient protocols, including family notifications and documentation

Safely care for behavioral health patients experiencing acute crisis

Coordinate patient transfers in compliance with EMTALA guidelines

Perform additional ER RN duties as assigned
