About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission of advocating for STEM education and creating awareness of its significance to the future workforce and economic prosperity. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, managing internal operations, and serving as a statewide champion for STEM learning. This role involves building and maintaining strong partnerships with education, workforce, industry, and community leaders to ensure the sustainability of the organization's role as a trusted convener, advocate, and partner in innovation. The Executive Director will also drive fundraising, and communications, and work to advance equitable access to STEM learning and career pathways for all students.
Candidates for the Executive Director position should have a proven track record in leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives, particularly in the education, workforce, and industry sectors. Strong advocacy skills, experience in influencing policy and legislation, and a successful history of fundraising and donor development are essential. Knowledge of education policy and systems, as well as an understanding of workforce priorities in key sectors, is also required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to equity, inclusion, and the removal of barriers for historically underrepresented learners and communities. Exceptional communication, storytelling skills, and the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders are crucial, as is a mission-driven ethos that aligns with the organization's values. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is necessary for this role.
