DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Food Service Instructor, you will lead inmate workers and provide instruction using hands-on vocational training. You will oversee inmates in food preparation, production, service, and baking. You will inspect all food service areas, equipment, and food for compliance with established safety and sanitation standards. This role requires the ability to e stablish and maintain effective working relationships that will enable inmates to learn the standard principles and practices of food service operations. In addition, you will ensure that meals are prepared and served in a timely manner, evaluate inmate work performance, and requisition food supplies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

• Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
• Work hours are 1st shift (4 : 30 AM to 12 : 30 PM) and 2nd shift ( 11 : 30 AM to 7 : 30 PM); with rotating days off. Work hours TO BE DETERMINED.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework : You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary : Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $47,925.00 (before taxes).
