Quality Engineer II

Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer II at our West Caldwell, NJ location.

Job Summary : As a Quality Engineer, you will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Suppliers, and Customers. You will be pivotal in supporting high quality deliverables to our high-profile customers, conducting internal audits, collecting, and analyzing production data to evaluate product quality, and driving root cause analysis to recommend corrective actions.

Essential Functions :

  • Approve quality products and deliverables to key customers.
  • Implement and maintain AS9145 APQP program with cross-functional team for assigned programs and processes.
  • Drive qualification of product and process changes to ensure only the highest levels of quality are accepted.
  • Provide manufacturing support and communicate with internal disciplines ensuring product compliance.
  • Review and approve front-end customer requirements - Customer Specifications and Purchase Orders.
  • Review and approve quality document changes - Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), deviations.
  • Promote and implement best practices in the assigned manufacturing area.
  • Support in-house audits and corrective actions while helping maintain AS9100 certification.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Experience : 3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer or Quality Tech in a manufacturing setting.
  • Skills / Abilities : An understanding of continuous improvement tools.
  • Knowledge : Some knowledge of Problem Solving, 5S, and Mistake-Proofing.
  • Education : BA or BS degree in Quality, Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering ASQC Quality Engineer Certification a plus
  • Eligibility Requirement : This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government. Additionally, as a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants selected could be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

    Salary range : $96,800.00 to 114,100.00. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
