SQL Server Database Administrator (AWS GovCloud)

We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to support mission-critical databases in a secure federal IT environment. The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server administration with hands-on experience deploying, managing, and optimizing workloads in AWS GovCloud IaaS environments . This role requires strong technical acumen, compliance awareness, and the ability to deliver resilient, secure, and scalable database services aligned with DoD and federal agency requirements.

Job Description

Successful candidates will demonstrate experience in the management, administration, deployment, and support of SQL Server databases in AWS GovCloud envionrments. Responsibilities include :

• Installing, configuring, upgrading, and patching SQL Server instances in AWS GovCloud IaaS and VMware-based environments.
• Designing and implementing secure, compliant database architectures aligned with DoD and federal agency standards .
• Managing database performance, capacity, and availability, including replication, clustering, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Developing and maintaining COOP and DR runbooks to ensure mission continuity.
• Implementing backup, recovery, and high availability solutions across multiple regions and availability zones.
• Supporting integrations OpenText ECM product suite.
• Applying encryption, IAM policies, and access control mechanisms to safeguard sensitive data.
• Collaborating with architects, developers, and security teams to ensure database solutions meet operational and compliance needs.
