We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately coding vendor charges, reconciling invoices, and ensuring timely payment processing. You will collaborate with internal departments and external partners to resolve discrepancies, assist with audits, and contribute to various special projects. This position is ideal for someone with strong accounts payable expertise, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has exceptional attention to detail while managing multiple priorities. This role reports to the Accounts Payable Supervisor and is based at our Austin, TX office.

Responsibilities

Accurately code vendor charges to accounts and cost centers by reviewing and analyzing invoices.

Compare purchase orders, pricing, payment terms, and other details against invoices; investigate and resolve discrepancies.

Reconcile vendor accounts by reviewing monthly statements and related transactions.

Respond to vendor inquiries regarding account setup and invoice status.

Ensure timely and accurate payment of bills in compliance with departmental procedures.

Confirm credits are applied for outstanding memos.

Participate in diverse projects and handle ad hoc assignments as needed.

Support annual financial audits by working with external auditors during the year-end process.

Essential Skills

3+ years of experience working in accounts payable.

High tolerance for ambiguity and a fast-paced environment.

Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Ability to collaborate and interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Proficiency with Coupa, NetSuite, and Procore.

Advanced Excel skills and comfort with data analysis.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in manufacturing, construction, and / or technology domains.

Prior start-up experience is a plus.

Independent thinker with the ability to ask the right questions.

Work Environment

The Accounts Payable Specialist will work in a dynamic and fast-paced office environment in Austin, TX, reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor. The role involves managing a significant volume of invoices, approximately 2,000 monthly, with the use of the Coupa system for automated AP processes. While 70% of invoices are processed automatically, the system requires oversight by a skilled professional. The office promotes collaboration and effective interaction with both internal and external stakeholders.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00 / hr.
