Position Summary :

Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through :

• Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities.
• Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being.
• Demonstrates unit / area-designated competencies.
• Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.

Responsibilities :

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify / attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

Required :

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six (6) month of job-related experience and / or training.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent.
