Job description

Reliant Staffing Solutions / RSS Medical is seeking a travel nurse RN Behavioral Health for a travel nursing job in Holyoke, Massachusetts.

Job Summary for Registered Nurse – MiraVista Behavioral Health Center

  • Provide direct and indirect nursing care to adult and adolescent inpatients with psychiatric and substance use disorders.
  • Participate actively as a member of the healthcare team, contributing to the development, implementation, and documentation of individualized treatment plans.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment in accordance with organizational core principles.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support patient-centered care.
  • Float between units and take charge as needed (no additional pay for charge duties).
  • Use critical thinking and crisis management skills to manage stressful situations and de-escalate crises.
  • Apply trauma-informed and recovery-oriented nursing practices.
  • Develop therapeutic relationships with patients while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff, both verbally and in writing.
  • Utilize electronic medical record systems for documentation and care coordination.
  • Delegate, coach, and support team members to ensure high quality care delivery.
  • Participate in ongoing staff training and adhere to safety, CPR, and restraint reduction protocols.
  • Support MiraVista’s mission to provide compassionate and effective care for those with psychiatric and co-occurring substance use disorders.

    • Requirements :

  • Current MA Registered Nurse license (required).
  • Minimum one year of adult / adolescent inpatient psychiatric experience.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Experience in restraint reduction, de-escalation, and crisis intervention preferred.
  • Willingness to work every other weekend / evening shifts and holidays, float between units, and take charge as needed.
  • Strong critical thinking, time management, and teamwork skills.
  • BSN preferred.
