Job Description : Responsible for planning and implementing instruction for students with moderate to severe disabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities : Educating students directly through classroom instruction and indirectly through special area assignments.

Job Qualifications : The appropriate certified candidate must possess Arizona Special Education certification, Cross Categorical or Mild Moderate. SEI endorsement preferred.

Licensing / Certification Requirements : Valid IVP Level One AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.

Employment Information : 2025-26 school year; 194 work days ( 216 day teacher calendar)

Start Date : July 09, 2025 (New Teachers)

Future Requirement for K-5 : Literacy Endorsement (unless you hold a Reading K-8, Reading K-12 or Reading Specialist K-12 endorsement)

Timeline :

• Teachers who were certified on or before 8 / 1 / 2025 have until 8 / 1 / 2028 to obtain the literacy endorsement.
• Teachers who certify after 8 / 1 / 2025 will have 3 years from certificate issuance to obtain the literacy endorsement.
• Teachers who graduate from AZ colleges in 2025 should have completed the coursework and should have the certificate on their licenses.
