The Regional Sales Director (RSD) is responsible for the day to day management of a designated region, and will utilize consultative, quasi- institutional sales skills to generate sales of full-service retirement plans and proprietary product placement. The RSD will work closely with their inside sales partner to develop and successfully execute a business plan to meet annual sales goals. The target market includes companies with asset levels in the mega corporate and not-for-profit marketplace. The RSD develops and manages consultant relationships through coordination with the Consultant Relations Teams.

What you will do :

  • Manage resources to aggressively pursue mega market plan opportunities.
  • Consistently maintain appropriate level of meetings, proposal activity and final sales presentations.
  • Develop the critical relationships to become a preferred provider and partner, ensuring finals opportunities and repeat business.
  • Utilize excellent communication skills and solid industry and product knowledge to deliver effective presentations at point of sale.
  • Work in tight partnership with Internal Sales Director (inside wholesaler). Also work collaboratively with regional sales team to identify and capitalize on opportunities for wider distribution of proprietary products and services, including Empower Self-Directed Brokerage services.
  • Make sound business decisions in terms of prioritizing and managing workflow.
  • Focus on Empower differentiated selling strategy initiatives (open architecture with proprietary products).
  • Support strategic marketing initiatives on a corporate and departmental level. Act as an ambassador for Empower.
  • Essential Skills Required : Must have the ability to function independently and must possess industry and product expertise.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong listening skills with probing ability desired.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Experience in team selling and group presentations.
  • Enthusiastic with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic and a solid attention to detail are required.
  • Individual must be a team player.

What you will bring :

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Series 7, 63 FINRA registrations required within corporate-established timelines.
  • FINRA fingerprinting required.
  • 5 to 8 years of related work experience.
  • 60%-70% travel required within territory.
  • Normal Office Working Conditions typically from a home office.

  • Base Salary Range

    $142,500.00 - $181,875.00

    The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and / or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
