Job Description :
Our great client has an immediate remote opening for a Nutanix DBA who has experience with Nutanix NDB. If you are interested please apply with resume to [email protected] .
Looking for the following skills :
ORACLE DB Administration (Expert-level)
Experience with Oracle 12c / 19c / 21c and features such as ASM, RAC (if applicable), Data Guard.
Deep understanding of Oracle ODA architecture, including :
ODA CLI and Appliance Manager
ODA storage layout, backups, patching, HA
Skilled in RMAN, Data Pump, Flashback, and transportable tablespaces.
2. Oracle Migration Experience
Proven history of migrating Oracle workloads across platforms (ODA ? VM-based, bare metal, or cloud).
Familiarity with :
Physical migrations (cold / hot backup & restore)
Logical migrations (Data Pump or GoldenGate)
Oracle PDB migration techniques if using multitenant
3. Nutanix NDB (Era) Proficiency
Hands-on experience with :
Provisioning, cloning, patching, and backups in Nutanix NDB.
Profiles and blueprints in NDB to standardize deployment.
NDB automation and API-based operations.
Understanding of Nutanix HCI architecture, AHV / ESXi integration, and storage layouts (vDisks, Containers, Snapshots).
4. Linux & Virtualization Skills
Proficient in Linux (RHEL, Oracle Linux) system administration :
Filesystem management (xfs / ext4)
Kernel tuning, hugepages, NUMA, ulimits
SELinux and firewalld configuration
Experience with virtualization :
AHV, VMware vSphere, or other hypervisors.
5. Backup / Restore & DR Strategy
Able to redesign backup strategy when moving from ODA to NDB :
RMAN with Nutanix NDB backup integrations
Integration with third-party tools (e.g., Rubrik, Commvault, NetBackup)
Understand how to implement and validate DR (e.g., with Nutanix asynchronous replication or Oracle Data Guard on NDB).
Proficient with scripting languages (Bash, Python or PowerShell) for automation and logging.
Familiarity with Ansible or Terraform for infrastructure-as-code is a plus.
Should understand how NDB workflows can be automated via REST APIs
